SCANDI WHIPS: KISA HÖST JAM

After the success of the first Höst (Autumn/fall in Swedish) Jam in 2021, Kisa MTB Park owner Oscar Härnström, decided to do it all again. And this time around he invited fellow INTENSE ambassadors Francesco Colombo from Italy and Kylian Breliere from France to join Nico Haglev and a big gang of locals to help end the season in style. Oscar takes up the story.

This year’s Höst Jam was a big success. We were super lucky with the weather, with sunshine and blue skies. There were loads of happy people and good vibes wherever you went throughout the weekend.

This year was the first time that we had organized night riding with headlights, and everyone seemed to love it. It was really cool to watch from the bottom, seeing all the lights criss-crossing the whole mountain.

Whip-off offered some high level riding and it was super cool to see how all the kids are progressing each year. We also had an air bag sesh where everyone could try out something new. After that we had our epic pit bike race with burning fires everywhere followed by live music. On Sunday we finished off the jam with a downhill race down the ‘Ey Bro’ trail, a wide open grass track. It was ‘slip and slide’ all the way to the finish line.

I was overwhelmed by the weekend, and it was super cool to have INTENSE ambassadors Kylian Breliere and Francesco Colombo over, and local ripper Nico Haglev. I’m already looking forward to hosting our next jam. Oscar Härnström

“Over the last two years Kisa MTB Park has more or less become my ‘home mountain’. This year’s highlight for sure was this Höst jam weekend, which was packed with rad people, and the weather was all-time too! It was so cool to see so many people just riding and shredding all the nice trails with huge smiles... and the fun DH race on my favorite trail was epic. Saturday night’s pit bike race was really fun too. Huge shout out and thank you to Oscar, Beatrice and Hampus for making this happen.” Nico Haglev

“When you ride at Kisa you really enjoy the shapes of all the jumps and features, it’s hard to find this in other bikeparks. There are no holes, no braking bumps, everything is super clean. The work Oscar and his team have done is crazy. You can really feel the flow when you ride it, and the lift is super fast, so you can do so many laps in a day. The thing that was new and totally strange for me was the night ride. We were still hitting the park even through it was totally dark! The atmosphere was incredible.” Kylian Breliere

“We had a great time in Sweden. I have never been there and I was really surprised and impressed with the bike park. Oscar and his brother have done an amazing job with the mountain, the trails run so sweet. Every track has a personality and despite the small height of the park you can find all styles and types of terrain. The jumps and berms are really well made (you can see the precision of a former World Cup rider) and you can really have tons of fun.” Francesco Colombo

“The INTENSE track was my favorite and I can't imagine how good it will be once Oscar has finished it. It's a red/easy track but you can find every type of jump with different lengths. So sick.” Francesco Colombo

“The atmosphere over the weekend was unreal, we were all there to have fun, ride together, do some whips, pit bike race and a small DH race too. Despite some cool whips I found myself doing better in the DH race on Sunday with a sweet win. I really enjoyed my time at Kisa with my mate Kylian, and for sure we want to go back there again.” Francesco Colombo
